How to Order Your
Prescription

There are four convenient ways to request your repeat prescription. Choose whichever is easiest for you — just remember to order in good time.

Digital
NHS App & Online Services

The quickest and most convenient way to order. Register with the NHS App or SystmOnline to request prescriptions 24/7 from your phone or computer. You can also track the status of your request.

In Person
Visit the Surgery

Fill in a prescription request form at reception, or underline the items you need on the tear-off side of your prescription slip and drop it in to us. Please only request medications you actually need.

By Post
Royal Mail Return

If you are unable to collect your prescription in person, we can return it by post. Simply include a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your request and we'll send the prescription directly to you.

By Phone
Call Reception

For urgent queries about your prescription, call us during opening hours. Please note that phone lines can be busy, so online ordering is encouraged where possible for routine requests.

Why Does It Take
2 Working Days?

48hrs
Allow up to 2 working days Please order your medication before you run out — do not wait until your last dose.

Every prescription request at Saluja Clinic goes through a careful review process to ensure it is safe, appropriate, and up to date for your needs. This takes time to do properly, but it means you can trust what you're receiving.

Delays may occur if a requested medication is not on your repeat list, differs from what is recorded, or if your doctor wishes to review your medication first. You may be contacted to arrange an appointment.

Important: Please do not order medication you do not need. Overstocking contributes to NHS waste and means medications cannot reach those who need them.

Prescriptions That Need
Extra Attention

Some prescription requests fall outside the standard 2-day process. Here's what to do in each situation.

Urgent
Emergency Medication

If you have run out of critical medication — including anti-epileptics, insulin, inhalers, or adrenaline pens for anaphylaxis — contact us immediately. Do not wait.

You may need a telephone consultation with our GP Clinical Pharmacist or a Doctor before we can issue an emergency supply.

New to the Practice
New Patient Prescriptions

If you are newly registered and take regular medication, please book an appointment with our Health Care Assistant before you need more medication.

At your appointment, bring your repeat prescription slip from your previous GP, or a list of medications with packaging. Records from your old surgery can take one to two weeks to arrive.

Not on Your Repeat List
Non-Repeat Prescriptions

For medications not on your repeat list — such as seasonal hay fever treatment or a previously prescribed medication — book a telephone consultation with our GP Clinical Pharmacist.

Written requests for non-repeat medication may take more than 2 working days to process, as the doctor may wish to speak with you first.
